Porchlight Astronomy started in a backyard ringed by streetlights, with a hand-me-down pair of binoculars and a lot of squinting at the wrong stars. We learned the sky the slow way, one constellation at a time, and we write the guides we wish we had then.
We are not professional astronomers and we do not sell telescopes. We are hobbyists who think the night sky belongs to everyone, including people who live under light-polluted suburban skies and can only spare twenty minutes after dinner.
Our promise is to keep things genuinely beginner-friendly. No jargon dumps, no gatekeeping about gear. Just clear, step-by-step help finding real things you can see tonight.
