Steep & Story is for the drinker who has noticed that the tea in a paper bag tastes nothing like the tea a friend brewed from a tin of whole leaves. We are independent writers and lifelong tea obsessives, and we believe the gap between those two cups is mostly knowledge, not money.
We cover the things that actually change the cup: water temperature, leaf-to-water ratio, steep time, and where the leaf was grown. We review teaware and tea honestly, and we will happily tell you when an inexpensive kettle beats a beautiful but impractical pot.
