Smart-object mockups look intimidating the first time you open one, but editing them is genuinely a two-minute job once you know the steps. A smart object is simply a container layer that holds your design and automatically applies the mockup's perspective, lighting, and shadows on top. Here is the whole workflow.

Open the file and find the smart object Open the mockup in Photoshop and look in the Layers panel for a layer with a small smart-object icon, usually named something obvious like Your Design Here or Edit This. Well-made packs label it clearly so you are never hunting.

Double-click to edit Double-click the smart-object thumbnail. Photoshop opens the layer's contents as a separate tab, typically a flat canvas at the correct size. This is your blank stage.

Drop in your design Paste or place your artwork into this tab, scaling it to fill the canvas. Position it exactly how you want it to appear. There is no need to warp or distort anything; the mockup handles the perspective for you.

Save and watch the magic Save the smart-object tab with Control or Command + S, then switch back to the main mockup file. Your design now appears wrapped onto the scene, complete with realistic shadows, reflections, and curvature. If it looks too flat or too bright, the pack usually includes adjustment layers you can tweak.

A few pro tips - Match your artwork's resolution to the canvas so it stays crisp. - Do not flatten the file; keep the smart object editable for future tweaks. - Toggle any included shadow or highlight layers to fine-tune realism. - Export the final result as a PNG or JPG for sharing.

That is the entire process. Once you have done it once, swapping a design into any smart-object mockup becomes second nature, and you will never go back to manually warping artwork again.
