Crumb & Crust started at a kitchen counter with a jar of bubbling starter and a lot of failed loaves. We are not a bakery and we do not have a deck oven. Everything here is tested in an ordinary home kitchen with a Dutch oven and a standard range.
Our goal is to take the mystery out of sourdough. We explain the why behind each step so you can read your own dough instead of blindly following a timer. When a method does not work for us, we say so.
